What if we put a “soul” inside a server, and one day, we can no longer control it?
Today, at an event hosted by the Saudi Embassy, I had the opportunity to speak with a senior officer from TV Alhirah about Agent AI.
I shared what we are working towards: AI agents that can live inside servers, PCs and machines, not simply waiting for instructions, but continuously working towards human-defined goals and intentions.
I described it simply:
“It is like having someone inside your server, always working for you.”
On my way home, another thought crossed my mind.
As AI agents become increasingly autonomous and capable of communicating and collaborating with other agents, what happens when guardrails fail?
This is why I believe a kill switch must be built natively into every autonomous AI agent - and eventually become a standard engineering practice across the industry.
We can continue building more capable and autonomous AI.
But humans must always retain the final authority to stop it.
Build the agent. Build the intelligence.
But never forget the kill switch.

The part about the content is clear, although I still have questions about the rollout cost. It make the point easier to understand.
This is a good breakdown of this discussion without making the implementation sound too easy.
The section on the case study made the real operational trade-offs much clearer.
The article connects the workflow to business outcomes in a very readable way.
This made What if we put a “soul” inside a server, and one day, we can no longer control it? feel less abstract and more like something a team can test.
The examples around the write-up are more convincing than a generic AI success story.
I would like to see a follow-up showing how this piece performs with a real case.
The practical angle on this topic is useful, especially for a small team planning its next step. It make the point easier to understand.
