Yesterday I had a conversation with a director from a well-known Malaysian company. One topic we touched on was AI Agents for SMEs.
We both agreed that 2026 is the beginning of the AI Agent era for ordinary businesses, especially what I call street SMEs.
In the past, only larger companies could afford an IT Manager, or even full teams covering IT, PR, multimedia, data and automation.
Now, small SMEs can access similar capabilities through AI Agents.
In AINNA’s context, a server can cost around RM100 per year, while session-based LLM usage can range from free to around RM80 depending on usage.
That means even a small SME can have AI Agents supporting IT, marketing, finance, customer service, content and operations.
What once required a whole department can now be accessible to a street SME at a very low cost.
