Formula

Dosing rate (L/h) = (dose mg/L × flow m³/h × 1000) / (concentration % × 10000)

Variables

  • Flow — system flow rate (m³/h)
  • Dose — target chemical dosage (mg/L)
  • Concentration — chemical solution strength (% w/v)

Example

50 m³/h, 2 mg/L chlorine, 10% sodium hypochlorite: (2×50×1000)/(10×10000) = 1.0 L/h.

Useful for preliminary chemical dosing estimates in water-treatment systems.
